There is no other day in the year like it. The whole world celebrates the birth of the One who came to bring forgiveness for sin and new life for the pardoned. That’s because there’s only one Jesus. As one of our overseas partners serving in a Hindu land put it, “This is the only celebration that is celebrated all over the world, so we take this opportunity to go preaching the gospel in different unreached places.” Oh, there are plenty of celebrations, holidays, feast days and the like around the globe, but there is only one Christmas.

Medical Relief and Life Saving Aid bring Joy at Christmas Time
In the aftermath of devastating cloudbursts and flash floods our Indian partners provided lifesaving relief supplies and building materials. Through this outreach, Christ’s love opened the doors for effective gospel witness and
spiritual growth in hard-to-reach mountain areas.

Wells, Training, and Schools Bring Hope to India, Nepal, & Uganda
Dhawadi is a village in central India. Like thousands of Indian villages, it has no local water supply so the villagers travel a great distance to fetch water.
Pastor Singh saw their desperate need for help and through HBI donors provided the funds for a tube well. After drilling for 350 feet, there was still no water. After more prayer they tried again and the water started flowing. Now the whole village has opened up to the Gospel and praises to God are flowing too.
Besides providing wells, our ministry partners offer training in life skills like sewing, computers and business. Many widows and disadvantaged women and men in Nepal who would otherwise be impoverished now run their own small tailoring shops and also operate computers. Schools in Uganda provide life changing education. The joy in these faces tells the whole story.
$100 provides a new sewing machine.
$1800 provides a village well.

$100 covers student fees.
Empowering the Most Oppressed to Reach Their Own
Providing funds to purchase farmland or stock animals like pigs, goats and chickens in places of desperate poverty like Cuba and Haiti enables pastors and local evangelists to feed their families and continue their effective ministries of reaching the lost for Christ.
Here is how our Cuban ministry partner put it:
“My beloved friends, I could write so much to thank you for your help this year. You are a blessing to Cuba. Your help has been fundamental in the provision of farms to produce food to help pastors, missionaries, and the needy throughout Cuba. Thank you!”

Middle East Ministry
Sudan has a long history of terrible violence. Christians have been caught in the midst of a brutal civil war and much oppression. But our partners in Egypt are reaching out to them with secret Bible studies. Many have come to Christ.

Reaching Unreached People Groups
According to the Joshua Project, there are thousands of Indian villages that have never heard the Good News of Jesus. Our partners are training hundreds of fervent workers to reach them. They then provide the newly trained leaders with bicycles and Bibles. Area leaders receive motorcycles to reach wider areas.

Want to make a great impact but don’t have a specific place in mind? A gift to Where Most Needed allows your gift to go to areas of immediate and strategic opportunity that our ministry partners often face. In situations of persecution and natural disasters, we are able to send emergency funds immediately. Your gift of any amount to this fund is greatly appreciated. Christie and I will be attending a conference of Middle Eastern leaders in February and will be delivering aid received for this purpose directly to them for frontline ministry.
What We Do
HBI helps national leaders in the nations they serve. Our ministry partners plant churches, strengthen new believers, provide Bibles and training materials, do job training, run schools and children’s homes and care for widows and orphans.
We have been involved in this work for 32 years and count it a great blessing.
