Jeff Hawkins of HIMAfrica—a partner ministry of Hope Builders—recently visited Chingola, Zambia. Here is his report:
This morning we concluded our first District Leadership Conference in Zambia. There were twenty HIM Zambia leaders present (six District Leaders and 14 Hub Leaders). We gathered for 10 hours each day, Monday through Wednesday. The HIM Zambia HUB church model was emphasized along with accurate reporting from the districts. Each morning began with quiet time followed by breakfast and then devotions before we began our day of work.
Bible Study Methods was taught in the afternoons with the men working through the letters of 2 Thessalonians and Jude. I taught a simple form of study to be taught to the congregations called the ABC method. A theme, Best Verse and Challenge were discovered in each unit of study. 2 Thessalonians was studied by chapter and Jude was broken into five parts. We concluded each study with the ABC of the two letters.
The men thank God for you in providing them with new study bibles. What a blessing. The joy was quite contagious!
Those that had not received a study bible in the past were given either a Discipleship Bible, New Scofield or a NET Study Bible from www.bible.org.
Again, thank you for contributing to Bibles for Believers!
Last Sunday Denson and I visited the Luano Baptist Church. Through the partnership of Hope Builders International and HIM Zambia a church building was constructed for this congregation of believers. It was humbling to share the Word with them.
This Sunday I will fly to Cape Town, South Africa and begin three days of teaching at the YWAM school. Thank you for your continued prayers.
We rejoice in your partnership with us in the great work of planting churches, training men and making disciples in Zambia.
