Ox-drawn cart used for “Jesus” film

One way the “Jesus” film makes its way across southern Africa is on the ox-drawn cart of Mufasa. He loads the cart with all the needed equipment, then visits his “pastors-in-training” students, making the slow trip over treacherous terrain. After the formal class training is done for the day, Mufasa takes the students on a “hands on” evangelism outreach in their own villages. There, he shows the “Jesus” fil and has the students work one-on-one with villagers who respond to the call to follow Christ.

Many people respond to the call, and follow-up begins on the spot. The local pastors meet and fellowship with these new believers, and invite them to their churches. The relationship is cemented right then and there, making this one of the most effective strategies for winning souls to Christ.

It’s important to note that Mufasa is working in a country where his life is constantly in danger should the authorities perceive a threat to their political views… something that has happened to many successful pastors in southern Africa.
