But I trust in Your unfailing love,
my heart rejoices in Your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
for He has been good to me."
We continue to rejoice in the goodness of God! He has been good to US!
What a privilege to serve Him and His men being trained in pastoral studies and mentored by other pastors to shepherd the flock of God here in Zambia. Our 53 Hub Leaders and 6 District leaders have been focusing their hearts and mind upon the mission of HIM Zambia... Planting churches, training leaders and making disciples. Today we finalized our Vision statement:
The Vision of HIM Zambia is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by becoming a SERVANT ministry that STRATEGICALLY and RAPIDLY SATURATES Zambia with evangelical, disciple-making churches lead by TRAINED Pastors.
The goal this week has been to ensure that all of us have the same vision/goals/intention in this vital ministry. It has been very exciting to see the men "light up" with a sense of real God called and glorifying ministry that will win thousands and even millions to Christ and plant hundreds and thousands of churches with trained pastors and make disciples of new believers! Each of these men are training other men. They will be receiving mentorship from pastors and Bible School training right where they live. They will in turn mentor and train other men. We will see 350 new pastors trained in a 3 year Bible cirricullum and mentored hands on while they are pastoring by men who are already pastors for what it would cost in dollars to send ONE pastor to America for a Bible college degree! NOT to mention the hundreds of souls not saved because a church was pastorless and not being discipled in their community and the hundreds of NEW churches that they will plant over the next several years by the grace of God.
LOU ANN has been so blessed to serve with the ladies cooking our meals and been a blessing to them. It has been so good to have her with me.
Steve Warren has been a special blessing too! God knew I needed a teaching and leading partner for this trip. Denson has had to be gone and the conference schedule and load needed two men to lead it. God has given me a special team mate in Steve Warren! The men love him... His nick name is "Beautiful Feet!" (Romans 10) Thank you Lord.
Continue to pray! The devil is not slacking off. Today our Bro. Herbie was detained at a border because of Passport issues. He was not able to get into Zambia with our training materials. Denson and son Blessed are on the way to Lusaka to meet him and bring the Bibles and material back with them.. Now Denson will have to travel to Mazabuka (another 400plus KM) to meet a man who is retrieving the books at the border and bring them to Mazabuka. We need the books by Friday before the men are scheduled to return home! Pray.
We have also run into a $ issue. I only have $1000 for travel to get our men here and home again. The cost will be $2000! God knows and will provide. Will it be by your hand?
Tonight when we were traveling home ROBBERS tried to take over our vehicle! God knew and had one of our big pastors in the back of the truck to scare them off as we slowed to a stop at a R/R crossing. Because my vehicle broke down we all traveled in another with this extra passenger and my friend pastor Davies driving! These men were not afraid and turn the vehicle around in hot pursuit to ensure they left the crossing.. Lou Ann and Pastor Denson's wife Rebecca had quite a scare!... NO I wasn't! But we all thanked God for His sovereign protecting hand!
WE have one more full day of meetings and then the men will be off on Friday morning.
Thank you for caring, sharing and partnering with us in Zambia!
FOR HIS GLORY!
Jeff and Lou Ann
